Trace around your shirt, then cut out that circle. If you're creating a long rectangle-shaped box for shirts, just trace around one of your shirts with chalk or pencil so that you can get an idea of its shape. With either type, make sure you have at least an inch or two extra room on all sides for folding purposes later on. 

Creating a Top Lid on Custom Shirt Boxes

To create your lid, take another piece of cardboard and use it as a template. Place it on top of your circular piece, ensuring that they overlap by about half an inch or so. Then simply trace around both pieces together to create one larger piece—the lid! You'll need to cut out both circles in order to do this properly; if you try tracing only once, you'll end up with something like half of a lid instead!

Packing in Items

When customizing a shirt box, make sure that you’re aware of what you plan on packing in it. If your items are fragile, try to limit yourself to one or two so they don’t get crushed during shipping.
